Joe Dykstra

Joe Dykstra was a three-year starter in basketball, earning All-Metro and All-State honors during each year. In the process, Joe established most of the Hoover school records in scoring and rebounding and held the Metro career scoring record for many years.
After high school, Joe attended Western Illinois University. As a four-year starter, he established many offensive school records, including the career scoring record. Joe was Division II All-American as a sophomore and won Honorable Mention All-American Division I as a Junior and Senior. He holds the national record for NCAA Division I with 64 consecutive free-throws.
Joe was Sports Illustrated’s Player of the Week, January 18, 1982. He is a member of the Iowa High School Athletic Association basketball Hall of Fame as well as the Western Illinois University Hall of Fame. The Phoenix Suns drafted Joe Dykstra and he also played professional basketball in Europe for four years.
Joe currently resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife and five children and is involved in the commercial real estate business.
